We’ve spent the majority of 2020 at home, in our PJs, being alone. This made me appreciate the small joys in life we have been missing on lately: especially going out with friends to a crowded bar or nightclub, putting on nice makeup (that’s not going to get smudged by my mask), and most importantly, dressing up like I care about looking good.
There are already quite a few outfits I want to try out when the lockdown and the restrictions end, and we can go out and have fun again without being constantly reminded about all the bad things happening in the world.
If you also long for those happier and more care-free days, take a peek at my future night out outfits that I’m going to totally steal from sustainable fashion influencers! You’re also welcome to try them out on your next date night or night out with friends. Or you know what? Even at home tomorrow. Why not?
1. Dress layered over a pair of jeans
You can make your summer dress appropriate for any weather with this simple trick. Take a basic outfit like a pair of jeans with a long-sleeved top, layer a short-sleeve dress over it to get a more elevated look. The variations are endless and your dresses will be happy to get out of your wardrobe a little more often.

2. Vintage crop top
Crop tops are the most versatile and the most flattering trends at the moment. But guess what? They were also popular in the 60s and 70s. You can find crop tops in vintage shops, or refashion a vintage blouse that looks a bit outdated otherwise.
3. The classic slip dress
The slip dress is a classic that looks so good on women of many different shapes and sizes. Play with the accessories to show your personal style!
4. White blouse with layered necklaces
I’m so into the layered necklace trend at the moment. Pairing them with a white top will let the necklaces stand out even more! Make it a crop top for double style points!

5. Black & white outfit with fancy shoes
When in doubt, always dress in black and white! It’s simple, it’s elegant, and it never goes out of style! If I keep my outfit simple, I love to add a pair of fancy shoes to make the outfit more interesting.
6. Power suit
There’s nothing that radiates confidence more than a well-tailored ensemble. If you want to show some personality, go for your favorite print or color!
7. Layered slip dress
I just told you how great slip dresses are a few outfits above! There are endless ways to style them by layering tops (or even bottoms) under or over them. Get creative!
8. More ways to layer dresses
The dress or the top you choose for layering can be as casual or as fancy as you like. But the original pieces are transformed into something completely new. That’s where the magic happens!
9. Pastel colors
Pastel colors are still in style and I just can’t get enough of them. Find a nice top in a pastel color, and you’re good to go!
10. Tailored shorts
Not everyone likes to wear skirts, but that doesn’t mean they can’t show off their legs. Wearing tailored shorts for a party might be the perfect alternative to skirts!
11. Monochrome
There’s just something about monochrome outfits that make them so appealing to the eye. Definitely try it if you want to stand out of the crowd and get noticed!
12. Back to basics
You can never go wrong with the good old basics: jeans and a white top. Add classic accessories for an elegant look, or bold jewelry and a statement bag for a more edgy outfit!
13. Little black dress
Or any dress of any color actually. I can’t remember when was the last time I had the occasion to wear a nice dress. But it’s such a simple way to look put together to any event.
14. Grunge meets party
This is a great outfit idea for concerts and music festivals. What’s not to love about edgy boots, striped long-sleeved T-shirts, and black everything?
15. Puff sleeves and palazzo pants
This combo adds volume to all the right places while keeping the focus on your waist. Make the outfit monochrome for extra style points!
16. Birkenstocks
Yes, Birkenstocks are still in, and they make every outfit look instantly cooler. This is a perfect ensemble for a casual night out with friends at the pub.
17. Dresses with sandals
Is it just me, or sandals are the best footwear to match with your summer dress. Perfect for every occasion: indoors or outdoors, date night, or a girls’ night out, you can never go wrong with this combo.
18. Off-the-shoulder crop top
Off-the-shoulder crop tops look amazing with so many different styles. It’s a super versatile trend and comes in handy any time you want to look more romantic and feminine.
19. Blouse
Blouses aren’t only for work. French women wear blouses and shirts on the weekends and for nights out all the time, so why shouldn’t we?

Monochrome outfits: good. Power suits: good. Monochrome suits: even better! Depending on the fit, the color, and the accessories they either can look classy or playful. I’m into both!

A knit dress is an autumn-winter essential. You can dress it up or down as much as you like, for everyday wear, or for a night out. Just simply switch out the accessories to transform it from day to night!
